Social behaviour network therapy

This consists of 4 to 8 treatment sessions to learn how to build a different social network for support in order to change the current drug use. This may consist of moving away from friends who are existing drug users.

The counsellor can reccomend current people within the patient's life that can help them with overcoming their addiction, however, the patient has the final say on this. Those selected can then also attend treatment sessions in order to help the patient develop the neccessary skills to overcome the addiction and continue the support outside of the sessions.

It aims to overcome the patient's denial by providing positive support for a change in the drug misuse and diminished support for continuing.
