Pharmacy services

 

The National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA) survey in 2005 found that drug misusers had more contact with pharmacies than any other service provider.

 

By offering services such as needle exchange, pharmacies may be the only point of contact a misuser has with services, therefore pharmacists are in a key position to promote harm reduction and direct the user to potential treatment services.
